At the bargaining table with Goodyear, we continue to aggressively communicate to management our need to obtain a fair and equitable contract for all, but the company continues to “slow walk” discussions and has yet to counter the economic needs of our members.
In the meantime, the USW Batlight has been touring Goodyear locations across the country to remind management that we are standing together for One Contract for All.
Last week, the Batlight stopped at Goodyear headquarters in Akron followed up by a rally in Topeka that drew the attention of the local news.
This week, the Goodyear Batlight tour continues with stops scheduled in Fayetteville and Danville. Be sure to check with your local union to find out when and where to watch!
We have scheduled strike authorization votes at the plants this week, and will announce the results on July 21, 2022.
The membership and the committee need to send a strong message to Goodyear that we are not taking steps backward in order to allow Goodyear to continue to make record profits without rewarding the workers that produce the quality products that customers and the market demands.
We will continue to keep you updated and will provide a comprehensive update on where we stand as the July 29 contract expiration deadline approaches.
Unity – Determination – Solidarity
