A scroll of bargaining unit members and others killed in USW represented paper sector workplaces since January 2014.
Carrier Corporation has, for decades, been a vital manufacturing operation in Indianapolis. The hard work of the skilled and dedicated employees has been the backbone of the company’s success: making quality American-made products that fetch huge company profits. Now, the company plans to close its operations in Indiana, move to Mexico, and pay workers poverty wages. This decision will devastate the 1,400 workers at the facility, our families and our community. We call on Carrier Corporation and its corporate parent, United Technologies to reverse this heartless decision to abandon American workers and stay in Indianapolis.
The United Steelworkers stand in solidarity with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Five union sisters of the United Steelworkers work individually and collectively to help make the world a better place through labor.
USW International President Leo W. Gerard and the International Executive Board have shown leadership and vision by appointing women to lead the majority of our union's major departments in the United States and Canada. Let's show some love for our leadership and the #WomenofSteel stepping up to do big things in our union! #ImSteppingUp #USWWorks
